August 18, 2010 - Rahul Swarup joins Go IP as CEO and MD

GOIP Global Services, an IT Solutions and Managed Services Company, have announced a major appointment to their team.

Rahul Swarup has been appointed as the new CEO and Managing Director for GOIP Global Services. He succeeds Anil Mittal who held the position since 1994 and has now taken the role of the company Chairman.

The new CEO and Managing Director of GOIP Global Services, Rahul Swarup brings a wealth of industry experience to the role.  Rahul Swarup has co-founded at 7Strata, Inc. an IT Services company focused on Remote Infrastructure Management Services. Prior to this, Rahul was President, Enterprise Business Unit at VSNL. He completed his B. Tech from IIT, Kanpur in 1983 and has around 24 years experience across 4 Organizations before this start up. He started his career with ONGC, one of the oil majors in India where he worked for 6 years and was involved in setting up and operating diverse Network infrastructure for the onshore and offshore installations. Subsequently he spent over 10yrs with Citibank in various roles with his last assignment being the Vice President and Head of Citicorp Global Technology Infrastructure reporting to London. CGTI was responsible for network and data center operations for Citibank and its affiliates across the world. Just before joining VSNL, Rahul spent 7 years with Sify (NASDAQ:SIFY) joining them as President-Technology, responsible for setting up the operations and management team and providing strategic direction for the technology group. Since April 2001 he had been associated with them as President, Enterprise Solutions, and spear headed Sify’s transition to being a key player in outsourced Managed Network Services in India.

Rahul Swarup will oversee entire operations and activities across GOIP Global Services and spearhead growth and business in the domestic and International markets.  Mr. Swarup takes up his new position on 13th July, 2010 and will be located at the GOIP Headquarters in New Delhi.
